This limited edition marks the 20th anniversary of Château Fleur Cardinale, and celebrates a 2021 vintage of great beauty, the result of constant attention from a team that has risen to the challenges imposed by a sometimes merciless Nature. For it is in the midst of adversity that strong moments are written.

The story of the 2021 vintage is an unpredictable game against nature with many challenges : until the final whistle, till the very last grapes are picked, the team relentlessly overcome all challenges. In order to better reveal the spirit of the vintage, they strive to preserve the expression of the fruit specific to each terroir, thus offering a wine of great beauty, the kind we enjoy sharing.

With this Rugby Spirit Edition, the game is won with the ball in hand.

The central shield is marked by the emblematic lines of the 5, 22 and 50 metres. The goal posts of the crucial drop kick appear overhead in a low angle.

The southern and northern hemispheres are intermingled, and none of the great oval nations have been forgotten: Argentinian pumas, Australian wallabies, South African springboks, New Zealand silver ferns and Japanese cherry blossoms alternate with the emblems of the old continent: on either side of the player are English roses, Scottish thistles and Irish shamrocks, and finally the three Welsh feathers, on either side of the posts.

Selected by the French team, the Chevalier de Château Fleur Cardinale wears the colours on his shoulder, the cockerel as a tattoo and on his wrists and fingers, the signs of combat. A retro collar on his polo shirt, as a nod to the rugby of a former era and to the lands of South-West France, where this sport has been rooted for more than a century and a half.

Château Fleur Cardinale 2021 takes you by surprise with its chiselled aromatic nose, its bright aromas of fresh blueberries and raspberries, highlighted by floral nuances. With real density, it unfolds into a beautiful creaminess. Its fine silky tannins give it a good length with a real freshness. After the tremors of an eventful beginning, 2021 appears more than any other as a fine vintage destined for the well-deserved rest of a lengthy maturation.

Blend: 60% merlot, 30% cabernet franc, 10% cabernet sauvignon.

Boasting the style and elegance of the greatest players, this Rugby Spirit Edition is presented in an exquisite, decidedly sports-minded case. The sliding lid conjures up a rugby ball to the eye and to the touch.

On closer inspection, this case seems ready to be converted. Abandoning its standard rectilinear shape, it seems to follow the curves of the leather ball, distilling the spirit of the beautiful game and the values of rugby in the cellars where it is to be kept.
